The completed sections of the Çorum-İskilip Road, which will raise Çorum’s highway standard and provide safer and more comfortable transportation, were put into service at a ceremony held on Friday, November 17. The opening ceremony was attended by Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu and General Manager of Highways Ahmet Gülşen. Members of Parliament, bureaucrats from public institutions and organizations and representatives of contractor companies were present.

We have completed important projects such as Samsun-Ankara Road, Northern Tetek Axis, Çorum-Sungurlu junction-Alaca, Çorum-Yozgat Road, İskilip City Crossing, İskilip-Çankırı Road and Saraydüzü-Kargı Road. “We continue our work on many of our projects, especially the Çorum-Laçin-Osmancık Road, which includes the Kırkdilim Crossing.” he said.
Stating that they bypassed the existing road and put into service the 9-kilometer section, which was designed to the divided road standard on a different route, Uraloğlu stated that they completed a total of 30,5 kilometers of the road with the opening of the road to traffic.

Uraloğlu emphasized that with the project, they connected the Çorum-Ankara State Highway to the TETEK route with the İskilip-Tosya connection, and to the Kastamonu-Çankırı-Kırıkkale State Highway with the İskilip-Bayat connection; “This route is very important in terms of being used as an alternative route from the Central and Eastern Black Sea to Ankara during periods of heavy traffic in the Delice-Kırıkkale-Ankara direction. “By improving the geometric and physical standards of the road, we have increased the driving comfort and traffic safety of our citizens.” said.

Speaking at the ceremony, General Manager Ahmet Gülşen emphasized that Çorum is very important in interregional road transportation as it is located at the junction of the roads connecting Central Anatolia to the Black Sea and Eastern Anatolia to the West.
Gülşen said that the Çorum-İskilip Road, which will raise the road transportation standard of the city, has a total length of 17,4 kilometers, of which 33,6 kilometers are divided roads and 51 kilometers are single roads. He stated that the road was designed as bituminous hot mixture coating.
Our General Manager shared the technical information of the project, stating that after the 2021-kilometer single-road section of the road opened to traffic in 21,5, another 9-kilometer section of the road, the construction of which was completed, was put into use as a divided road with bituminous hot mixture coating. Gülşen, within the scope of the main business items of the segment offered; He stated that 1,9 million cubic meters of earthwork, 12 thousand 250 cubic meters of ferrous concrete, 170 thousand tons of mechanical manufacturing, and 100 thousand tons of bituminous hot mixture manufacturing were carried out.
