ANKARA, Turkey — Israel said Saturday that it was recalling its diplomats from Turkey over “increasingly harsh statements” coming from the government in Ankara. The announcement came after Turkey’s president told a massive protest crowd in Istanbul that his government was preparing to declare Israel a “war criminal” due to its actions in the Gaza Strip. The government will adopt emergency measures amounting to 350 million euros to support poorer households and citizens in December, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said on Thursday. A Turkish soldier, who was wounded in an explosion of an improvised explosive device (IED) in northern Iraq, succumbed to his injuries, the Turkish National Defense Ministry said Tuesday. The explosion of the IED planted by terrorists in Türkiye’s anti-terror Operation Claw zone had severely injured Infantry Specialist Sergeant Mustafa Cakmak, the ministry said in a statement. Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan will pay an official visit to Kazakhstan on Sept. 10-11, the Turkish Foreign Ministry said on Sunday. Fidan and Kazakhstan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Murat Nurtileu will discuss bilateral issues, as well as regional and global developments, a ministry statement said. Türkiye is the first country which recognized Kazakhstan. Common historical and cultural ties between Türkiye and Kazakhstan are the basis of the rapidly developing relations.
