Summer signing Arda Guler has had bad luck with injuries ever since joining Real Madrid in the summer.
As such, the 18-year-old is yet to make a single appearance for his new team, and a report from SPORT has mentioned that the young footballer has decided to take advantage of the international break to achieve full fitness.
The report adds that for the aforementioned, Guler has opted to travel to Istanbul for his treatment.
Injuries have plagued the young footballer consistently since his €20 million signing from Fenerbahce and currently, the prospect of the highly anticipated debut of the Turkish talent seems nearly impossible.
What’s happening with Guler?
Reports suggest that Guler travelled to Istanbul in the last few hours to undergo a medical consultation and explore new treatments in the quest for an alternative solution to finally overcome his recurrent muscle issues.
Sources from Madrid indicate that the footballer is currently grappling with a problem in his right quadriceps, necessitating an extension of his rest period for complete recovery.
Guler’s injuries have already taken a toll on Real Madrid, resulting in the departure of Niko Mihic, the head of the first team’s medical services.
Despite facing scrutiny since the previous season, Mihic’s position became unjustified due to the Turk’s recurrent physical setbacks, ultimately leading to the club’s decision to part ways with the Croatian doctor.
When will he debut?
During his initial days in training at Real Madrid, issues with the internal meniscus were identified, necessitating an extended recovery period. Upon rejoining the first-team activities, Guler faced a minor muscular ailment which postponed his eagerly awaited debut.
All signs pointed to his participation in the match against Braga where he was named on the bench. However, this proved unattainable.
Guler remained on the bench as Carlo Ancelotti excused him, and shortly afterwards, it was disclosed that a renewed issue with his right quadriceps was the culprit.
Presently, the most recent updates indicate that Guler’s debut is likely to be postponed for at least another month.
